SOVEREIGN SOIL CONSULTING
“Giving biology a chance”
Building robust, resilient, life-giving soil and plant systems through purposeful management practices that enhance carbon, water, and nutrient cycling. As stewards of ecosystems, we have the honor and duty to learn the patterns of the Creator’s handywork. If we can move the needle on the basics, nature will carry a lot of the heavy lifting and bless us with high brix, nutrient dense food. I believe that the foundational components of our lawns, gardens, farms, and ranches are found in microbes, minerals, carbon, oxygen, and electromagnetic energy. Working in a framework that considers all of these facets can lead to nutrient dense, high brix crops that are devoid of pest and disease. It would be my pleasure to come alongside your operation and to participate in your journey to regeneration.
I love to teach and engage in conversations about agronomy, biology, and soils. Never be afraid to call with a question or to ask for guidance. Impromptu grower support will always be a hallmark of Black Diamond Vermicompost. We are here for you in your journey to regenerate your soils, your cropping systems, your lives, and your communities. With that being said, if any grower is curious about formal consulting or advising, please reach out and we can detail your needs and an adequate structure for both parties.
If you are wanting to get your soil tested for microbial activity, mineral composition, or you’d like to venture into leaf sap analysis, I can provide interpretation and product recommendation. This could look like broadcast application of minerals for mineral balancing, techniques for increasing soil microbial activity, full fertility programs, or on the fly foliar protocols. I possess instrumentation for testing soil minerals and biological activity in-house.

My bachelor’s degree is from Iowa State University in Agricultural Engineering - specializing in Land & Water Resources with a partial focus on Biological Systems. My agriculture experience is strongest in viticulture. I currently manage regenerative, organic, high-end wine grape vineyards for my family and a local winery in Templeton, California. I also hold the title of a Certified Crop Advisor, which is a professional recognition of broad agronomic proficiency - my expertise is not limited to wine grapes!
Below are inspirations and educators under which I have developed my aptitude for Biological Farming Systems via their literature, lectures, or training seminars. As biological farmers today, we stand on the shoulders of giants. Many of these practitioners are avid participants in the ACRES USA community - which is a publisher, magazine, and annual conference that I highly recommend. If you wish to travel down the rabbit hole of biological agriculture, you should start by seeking the works of the practitioners below:
